Canada's Shame

April is the worst time of the year. Up in Canada, something absolutely dreadful is happening. Even if you wear skins, you will find this horrifying. Canada is funding the mass killing of baby seals for fur!

Over the course of the Summer, more than 3,000 four-week-old harp seals will be beaten to death and skinned alive in full view of their mothers-all for one ugly fashion statement. If you see pictures of the seal hunt or films, you will notice endless bloody corpses across ice floes, admist of it all screaming seal mothers. Sounds too terrible to be true.
Canada claims the seal slaughter improves their economy. But it does anything but. These statistics prove a lot:
-The net profit for last year was only $1 million.
-The slaughter costs Canada $53 billion annually, which includes surveillance, fighting bans, paying for Chinese fashion shows, and more surveillance.

I got the majority of my information from this PETA info-graphic.

The following sites have ways to stop the slaughter:

Note: Once I figure out how to copyright and get my article published, I will put my official and professional writing up.

Introduction

Hello, I am Kelsey, an activist from Colorado. This blog was created to keep track of my animal activism and share with the world what i do and how to help.
My activism is what you'd describe as "hardcore." I try to do everything I can to save animals which includes not eating them, not testing on them, not wearing them, making and signing petitions, leafleting, attending seminars and protests and doing this all on an international scale. i have probably dedicated my existence to philanthropy.
But it is worth it because i know I have saved hundreds of lives.
